Stainless Steel Density Cups
 | A stainless steel precision instrument for determining the specific weight of paints and similar products.
This instrument consists of a cylindrical container and cover with a hole for exhaust of tested liquid excess.
These can be supplied with or without a tare weight for weighing on a balance.
How to use a Density Cup:
- Weigh the Cup when empty
- Fill with the liquid
- Place lid on the Cup*
- Weigh the Gravity Cup when full and divide the weight by the volume to determine the Specific Gravity
*Note that each Cup has an escape hole in the lid to allow excess liquid to escape. Any excess liquid should be removed before weighing.
| The formula for calculating Density and Specific Gravity are: |
| Density= | Weight |
| Unit Volume |
| Specific Gravity= | Density of the Material |
| Density of the Water at the Same Temperature |
| Note: 50cc = 50cm3 = Volume |
| 100cc = 100cm3 = Volume |
